Once upon a time in a land far, far away…wait, Wait, WAIT! Maybe this fairy tale doesn’t begin all that long ago and it may or may not have begun in a little paint store located in West Ed. One thing is for sure, it is not your average fairy tale. This girl would pick coveralls over ball gowns & glass slippers any day! It does include one key element that all fairy tales encompass – true love.
It was 1994 and after a stint at FDY Interior Design I found myself working at a little paint & wallpaper store. I thankfully had a super cool co-worker, Laurie, who was easy to look up to because she always had something going on design wise. One evening during the dead of winter we were both working the closing shift at the store & her ride showed up to take her home – her dreamy (insert heart eyes emoji here) brother Greg. A couple of phone calls later & we were on our first “date” & literally a week later we were inseparable.
Today marks our 19th wedding anniversary (24 years together). In this time we’ve managed to raise three awesome boys, welcomed two grandbabies and have gone through some pretty extreme highs & lows. We’ve gone from “having it all” to having the one thing that really matters most – each other. Would I change any of it? Not in a million years! I consider myself one of the lucky ones. Lucky to have found someone who makes me laugh uncontrollably, who gives me comfort when my days are dim, someone who gives me strength when I am weak. I am thankful to have found my soul mate. Thankful because the abundance of “us” has nothing to do with possessions, but rather the abundance of love, support & respect. I believe in happily ever after because I have him.
I love you today. I’ll love you tomorrow. I’ll love you always.
